Hemp has many advantages over cotton
100% Cotton T-shirt uses 700 gallons of water. 4 oz chemical and fertilizer. Sprayed with 1/4 gram of toxic pesticides and herbicides. Total energy used *1,900 kj, ( kj , joule is a derived unit defined as the work done to exert a force of one Newton for a distance of one meter, so the same quantity may be referred to 1 kilo watt per second.)
Hemp farming uses no chemicals or herbicides. Photosynthesis 1 ton of hemp converts approximately 2 tons of carbon dioxide into oxygen. Hemp can make food and fiber.
